John, apologies for the delay, I've been very busy and distracted lately.
That is a good question. I use a variety of time-frame combinations, though do seem to focus on the 5/30 quite often.
Which one I am using varies, mostly based on what the trend is, which time-frame I am using for trend/direction, and how long I want to be in the trade.
You should try all time-frames, decide which work for you. they are all appropriate.

Hi Neal
Sorry if this sounds like a redundant question, but it's best way for me to learn if I ask, no matter how stupid a question can be.
What do you mean by time-frame combinations when we use the Fib ratios to trade FX? Does your 5/30 mean you draw the Fib ratios on a 30-min chart and then alternate to monitor the chart on a 5-min chart as well?
Look forward to hear from the guru. :D

5/30 would mean trade the 30 minute trend off of the 5 minute chart...to put it another way....trade the higher time frame trend on the lower time frame chart.
You indeed can draw fibs on the higher time frame chart (generally stronger levels on a higher time frame)......and then go down to a lower time frame chart (your trading chart) to see if there are any other substantial swings to fib from.

Haha, ask my teenager if I'm a Guru!
Good question, and great answers above already, no need for me to duplicate.
Actually I have an excellent series of video seminars that explain how to trade correctly. The one that answers your question is called "Trading The Trend" (http://www.fibmarkets.com/videoseminar/)
Those seminars explain so much more. If you haven't studied them, you're really at a disadvantage.
