What is a good way to determine if you're in a trending market or a ranging market?

some traders use moving averages, or you can draw a trend line, i like to draw channels. also look at your indicators, if theyre flat, its not trending. is it moving to make new higher highs and higher lows? i would take all of that into consideration.

So, in effect Lori, what you are saying is that fxnewbie should buy the Fibmaster’s video called ‘Trading the Trend’ and that is something that I whole-heartedly agree with. I have been a Fib devotee of both Joe DiNapoli and Neal for quite a while and it wasn’t until I saw Neal’s trend video that I really started to get anywhere.
