Is it likely that a newer smaller trader would make money trading the mini contracts (corn, wheat, soybeans, gold, silver)? Or would it be better to start and stick with the big ones?
The size of your account can influence that decision. The larger contracts are more suited to larger accounts.
Another aspect is liquidity. Low volumes can cause slippage (painful). My suggestion is to look at the index minis, and only during regular market hours.
What is a reasonable account size to begin trading mini indexes? What is the minimum?
check w ur broker about what they require to open an acct. i would suggest demo trading w whatever amt u can put at risk and see if u can be profitable w that amt or not. make sure u trade the demo acct EXACTLY as u would a funded acct--placing ur stops and profits- when u enter a trade.
